Oh boy. Opened up a little time capsule just now, from the storage loft. A box with sets of massage sheets, the scrubs and the Birkenstock sandals she wore, and even a cuticle trimmer and emory board in a zippy bag. Mary Rose used to do massage therapy here a few times per month, for her clients that just couldn't make it out to the wilds of Brooklyn. Seeing her trademark Birks just broke my heart all over again. I held them, hugged them to my heart, and cried all over them.
When I calmed down, I tried to figure out how I would recycle these things, and realized that the sheets snd scrubs hadn't been used much, and were such great colors. Quietly, the idea came to me. That unfinished quilt that mom left behind, which is too small for Tom & Alice's bed, I can use these other materials to finish it. I will turn it into a full size quilt for my bed in the RV. It will be so nice to take them both along on this trip in that way. They were both "makers" weavers, in a way. Making beauty, and meals, cleaning and scrubbing, ironing, and yes, therapeutically massaging the hell out of whatever needed it.
