These mosaics are in the Eastern Parkway subway station at the museum. What a fabulous use of architectural elements! I wonder if they're from buildings that were being torn down?
Anyway, on to the fabulous Ms. O'Keefe. The way the show was curated was one third photos of the artist, one third her works, and the rest was her clothing.
I love seeing O'Keefe's work, any time, any where.
Here are some photos of herself taken with and by Steiglitz, as well as other famous photographers.
From the clothing part of the show that I suspected wouldn't interest me, some photos of her clothing. Much of her clothing she made herself, and somehow that drew me in. Her style throughout her lifetime was to wear mostly black, or black and white.
It was a really interesting exhibition, because you generally see just the paintings or photos of and by the artist, but this show revealed some essence of the artist and her personal style.
